1952 Gold Les Paul

This is an example of "aging" to suggest the original finish. Notice the "greening" effect on the lower bout to replicate years of bar sweat and alcohol abuse. After the top was coaxed into it aged state it was then clear coated was amber tinted nitro lacquer and the binding was cut back to suggest aging as well. This is actually a '52 replica that I built for my own pleasure. Notice the strings go over the bar, not under. I had one in my younger daze and have always wanted it back. It's true, you can never truly go home, but this is a close second. It has become my favorite of all the electric guitars I've built to date.
